BIO
My name is Loyiso Sibiya. I am 23 years old and currently hold a Digital Marketing degree at Vega.
I love dancing even though my legs don’t always do what they’re supposed to do. I’m in awe of mountains especially on scenic drives, there’s just something freeing and magical about looking at something that has remained stable over all these years of the earth. I love travelling, I got to experience my first passport stamp this year and I hope I get to fill up my passport with more.
When my brother died at a young age, I felt a great sense of discouragement because he was someone who had big ambitions and was zealous to conquer the world. I started fearing to live and I questioned the point of having dreams and aspirations.
Prayer and being surrounded by people who were pushing to fulfil their dreams made me realise that although death is inevitable, it’s not just ticking of goals from our bucket list that makes life worthwhile but rather how we’ve chosen to live and the people we have impacted along the way.
The Miss Soweto organisation has produced winners who’ve gone on to be prominent figures in their respective industries and from what I’ve observed about those women was that they were willing to learn and to show that even ladies from eKasi have what it takes to be on world stages and become business leaders. I too am willing to learn and want to be part of an organisation that not only will change my life over night but also groom my potential so that I too can continue to make Soweto proud.
