BIO

My name is Helen Moseri, born in Orlando Soweto. I am in my final year as a Criminology student.   

Raised by both parents, who tried every thing in their power to give my sister and I a well off life, I can safely say that's where I learnt to be fierce, independent but most importantly go for what I want in life.

Even though I'm completing my degree in Criminology, I started my own beauty company called City Girl Lashes. Being a true leader has always been in my blood - I understood from that age that being a leader is not about being right or telling people what to do but it's about listening and caring about what the people need. And putting people first before you. 

Being in the Criminology field, I've learnt how together has a community we can reduce poverty and improve the neighbourhood living conditions, change male socialisation patterns because I believe it's vital to teach our boys and men to respect and love our women ad it's no use focusing on teaching and empowering girls and neglecting the boys. 

If I win Miss Soweto, I will carry the crown with the utmost dignity as it's not only a pageant title but a great responsibility.
