Johannesburg, South Africa (30 November 2025) – The Soweto Theatre was aglow with elegance, excitement, and emotion on Saturday night as the 46th White Star Miss Soweto pageant crowned its new queens in a spectacular celebration of womanhood, culture, and leadership.

What started on 16 October 2025 with the unveiling of the Top 20 finalists culminated in an unforgettable evening filled with fierce competition, dazzling performances, and heartfelt camaraderie. The programme’s transformative workshops prepared these outstanding young women not only for the spotlight but for lives of leadership and impact.

The crowd was captivated by the sensational performance of glamazon Azana, whose soulful voice and magnetic stage presence set the perfect tone for the night. Co-hosts Nia Brown and Thulz of Yfm brought vibrant energy and seamless flow to the event, while former White Star Miss Soweto 2016 and 2025 Miss South Africa finalist, Nthabiseng Kgasi, added star power on the red carpet.

The esteemed judging panel, including media personality and seasoned broadcaster Bridget Masinga, Sowetan lifestyle journalist Masego Seemela, and returning Miss Soweto legend and award-winning makeup artist Bongi Mlotshwa, faced a challenging decision. After careful deliberations, the crown was awarded to Lungile Siyaphi who took home R100 000 in cash from White Star, along with stunning evening gowns by Eli Ball. The new Miss Soweto impressed with her grace, poise, and dedication to community upliftment.

The 1st Princess, Boitumelo Molotsana, received R20 000 in cash, as well as the Miss Social Butterfly prize of R5000, as voted by her fellow contestants; while the 2nd Princess, Kutlwano Zingitwa, earned R15 000, both deserving honours for their exceptional efforts and spirit. Meanwhile, the coveted People’s Choice Award (Miss Congeniality), determined by public vote, went to Thando Motha, who was also awarded R5 000 cash in recognition of her popularity and congeniality.

All three top winners received luxurious beauty hampers from Black Opal, adding to their well-deserved accolades and ensuring they shine both inside and out.
