Johannesburg, South Africa (June 8, 2026) – White Star is proud to announce that entries are open for the 47th edition of the White Star Miss Soweto pageant! This event is one of Soweto’s most celebrated platforms for empowering young women and showcasing future leaders.  

The White Star Miss Soweto pageant offers aspiring young women the opportunity to grow, shine, inspire, and make a meaningful impact. From personal development and leadership workshops to community initiatives and public appearances, finalists embark on a transformative journey that extends far beyond the stage.

The Top 20 finalists will be announced in October, with the journey culminating in a spectacular coronation event on the 28th of November at the renowned Soweto Theatre in Jabulani.

Terms & Conditions and Eligibility:

  • Eligibility: Open to South African women aged 18 to 24 years as of 1 September 2026, residing in or with strong ties to Soweto.
  • Entry Requirements: Complete the official entry form via White Star’s WhatsApp line on 073 065 1066 and submit a recent photograph together with proof of residency or connection to Soweto.
  • Competition Stages: Entries close end on 31 July 26. The Top 20 finalists will be announced in October 2026.
  • Preparatory Activities: Finalists will participate in workshops, photoshoots, community service initiatives, and public appearances as part of the preparation.
  • Pageant Night: The grand coronation will take place at Soweto Theatre on 28 November 2026.
  • Public Voting: Voting for the People's Choice Award opens at the Top 20 announcement and closes on pageant night.
  • Judging Criteria: Contestants will be evaluated on poise, personality, community involvement, leadership potential, communications skills and overall presentation
